Lead by Story is partnering with She the Change and The Art House to bring you the SpeakUP: Poetic Justice series.

SpeakUP: Poetic Justice will activate the Central Coast and surrounding regions through pop-up spoken word performances and workshops, leading to a dynamic finale event at the Art House, Wyong featuring one of Australia’s leading poets, Joel McKerrow.

Spoken word empowers the voices of those who traditionally may not have a platform to speak from, and fosters cohesive, diverse community by exposing mixed audience groups to a broad number of stories and perspectives evoking empathy, curiosity and awareness.

The SpeakUP Poetic Justice workshops will empower participants to write their own original spoken word pieces responding to issues including indigenous justice, gender equality and climate change. Workshop participants and local performers will have the opportunity to share their works at the final event alongside Joel McKerrow.

Add your voice to the conversation and speak up about the things that matter most.
